Who We Are
Resilient Kids Canada is all about giving young children the emotional and social superpowers to navigate life skillfully and happily, now and in the future. Be it everyday challenges or traumatic events, life is full of twists and turns. But research shows that if cognitive, social, and emotional skills are taught at a very early age, children will develop the mighty ingredients needed to effectively respond throughout life to whatever is thrown their way, and to thrive.
What We Do
We offer programs and resources for kids, parents, and educators grounded in the magical and creative world of kids – and in the social and emotional discoveries that are crucial for children to make in their early years. Through fun and playful activities, we help foster healthy early childhood development and give children, parents, and educators the tools to enable all Canadian children to have the best cognitive, social, and emotional start in life.
Why It Matters
Being able to adapt well to what life throws our way doesn’t come more easily with age. In fact, the most critical time to learn social and emotional skills - the building-blocks for resilience - are our early childhood years from ages three to eight, with the impact being profound including strong academic performance later in life, solid career paths, and positive adult health outcomes. It’s about giving children the tools early on to grow into confident and resourceful people who can understand and manage emotions, achieve constructive goals, establish and maintain positive relationships and ultimately, enjoy a bright, happy, healthy and fulfilling life. Bottom line, it’s enabling children to achieve their full potential and become the best that they can be.

Land Acknowledgment: Our lands spanning from Lake Ontario to the Niagara Escarpment are steeped in the Indigenous History and Modern Traditions of the many Firsts Nations and Métis.
